Job summary

Priory is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join their team in the Shires and Avon region. You will work on developing behavior support plans, provide training, and ensure the well-being of clients with learning disabilities and autism. This role requires compassion, effective communication, and leadership skills, and offers a chance to make a positive impact in individuals' lives.

Qualifications

  • Hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Be qualified or willing to work towards PROACT-SCIPr-UK Instructor.
  • Experience in developing behavior support plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans including Functional Behaviour Assessment.
  • Provide incident support, analysis, and staff training.
  • Lead practice workshops and mentor new team members.

We are looking for a PBS Practitioner to join our Positive Behaviour Support team in the Shires and Avon

At Priory Adult Care we offer 24/7 specialist care in community settings. Our aim is to deliver support that enables individuals to develop and improve their quality of life outcomes.

The role will cover a number of services in the Shires and Avon region (Bristol, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire)

You will need to have a full UK driving license for this role to enable travel between services.

The PBS practitioner will work closely with the people we support, colleague teams and stakeholders to develop and deliver Positive Behaviour Support for individuals and services.

The post holder will use their expertise to support predominantly in the following areas:

  • Development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans including Functional Behaviour Assessment
  • Practice Leadership and Practice workshops
  • Incident support, analysis and colleague debrief
  • Staff training & development

The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a formal qualification in: or Positive Behaviour Support i.e. BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS Graduate Diploma, PBS BTEC Level 5 (advanced professional Diploma)
  • Be qualified or willing and able to work towards PROACT-SCIPr-UK Instructor
In addition, the candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Person centred beliefs, values and attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a leadership capacity, leading and influencing others positively
  • An in depth understanding of the principals of Positive Behaviour Support and Principals of Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • A history in conducting behavioural assessment and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals
  • A history of direct support experience with people with a learning disability and/or Autism, and behaviours of concern
  • A history of reducing the use of restrictive practices
  • A history of the delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training
  • Excellent record keeping and written skills including report writing
  • Detailed understanding of the legal frameworks and policy relevant to the role, e.g. Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS, Safeguarding, risk management
