Job description

Job Description

Are you someone who thrives on making a real, positive impact supporting children and young people?

Opportunities to start your positive behaviour support career!

Working intensively with families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team around the child, you will aim to improve the well-being of the child and decrease their need to use negative behaviours to get their needs met. You will also work closely with colleagues in East Sussex County Council Children’s Care Homes and services to support behavioural approaches and risk management.

As part of an existing team of experienced staff, you will work alongside families and professionals in drawing up and delivering bespoke behaviour plans. This will involve behaviour analysis, skills teaching, and modelling approaches with families and carers. You will work flexibly, often out of hours, to be present when behaviours occur.

We are looking for a skilled practitioner with experience of working with:

  • Highly complex children and their families, with the confidence to help those with behavioural issues.
  • Ability to analyse complex behaviour, identify key triggers, and outline intervention and support programmes to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

On completion of the probationary year, candidates will be offered the chance to complete a level 4 professional diploma in Positive Behaviour Support.

The team is based in Eastbourne but works dynamically across the county. A full driving license or the ability to demonstrate how you will meet the travelling requirements of the post is required.

To apply, please click the 'Apply Now' button to upload a cover letter addressing how you meet the essential and desirable criteria outlined in the job description and person specification.

Please download the Job Description and Person Specification

Interviews will take place within two weeks of the closing date, face-to-face in Eastbourne or Lewes.
