East Sussex County Council is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support practitioner to join a dedicated team working with children and families. This role involves close collaboration to develop behaviour plans and support children with complex needs, offering a chance to advance in the field through professional development opportunities.

Working intensively with families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team around the child, you will aim to improve the well-being of the child and decrease their need to use negative behaviours to get their needs met. You will also work closely with colleagues in East Sussex County Council Children’s Care Homes and services to support behavioural approaches and risk management.
As part of an existing team of experienced staff, you will work alongside families and professionals in drawing up and delivering bespoke behaviour plans. This will involve behaviour analysis, skills teaching, and modelling approaches with families and carers. You will work flexibly, often out of hours, to be present when behaviours occur.

On completion of the probationary year, candidates will be offered the chance to complete a level 4 professional diploma in Positive Behaviour Support.
The team is based in Eastbourne but works dynamically across the county. A full driving license or the ability to demonstrate how you will meet the travelling requirements of the post is required.
