Job description

Those Huge Small Victories

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead, you will focus on supporting staff teams to create capable environments where our young people can thrive. Our teams are fulfilled by the idea of making even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things.

Get out what you put in

As a PBS lead, you will assist with the development, organisation, and delivery of a high-quality Positive Behaviour Support approach, enabling children to develop the skills they need to enjoy the best quality of life. Co-production will be a key part of your role, working in partnership with children and their families to identify individual support needs, challenges impacting their quality of life, and to develop effective, individualised plans.

As a practice leader, you will ensure our staff teams benefit from person-centred PBS training, good practice role modelling, and coaching related to individualised plans.

What we do for you

We know you’re going to do great things. For your hard work and commitment, we offer the best salary and benefits package in the education sector. With us, you’ll bring learning to life and make a genuine difference to the lives of our young people. You’ll also get:

  • Training: A full induction and on-the-job training
  • Holiday: 10 weeks of annual leave (please note, these must be taken during school holiday times)
  • Progression: Opportunities for continued professional development through our annual performance reviews
  • Flexible benefits package: Options to adjust benefits such as life insurance; more details here
  • Wellbeing: Access to wellbeing tools and employee assistance
  • Medical cover: Reimbursements for health appointments and high-street discounts
  • Beautiful working environments: Facilities and schools details here
  • Recommend a friend scheme: Earn a £1,000 bonus per successful referral
  • Contributory pension scheme: Matched contributions up to 5%
  • Bring your whole self to work: Embracing diversity and inclusion

Our young people come from diverse backgrounds and have different needs. Our workforce reflects this diversity, enabling our teams to engage, encourage, and inspire them to be themselves. We are looking for:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs
  • In-depth knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Understanding of behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and targeted support
  • Experience in identifying and delivering training needs
  • Extensive experience working in partnership with young people and families
  • Ability to support others in understanding behaviours and creating proactive strategies
  • Highly organized, proactive, honest, and empathetic

Interested in joining us?

Our young people deserve the best future, and we want our teams to have fulfilling careers with a purpose-led employer. You can be yourself in an environment that supports your growth.
