Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead for Luxborough Court School in Chigwell. You will lead the development, organisation and delivery of a high-quality PBS approach to help children develop skills and achieve better quality of life.

You will work in partnership with children and families, provide staff coaching and PBS training, and support the creation of individualised plans in a person-centred framework within a brand-new, SEND environment.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs
• A relevant SEN/Health & Social Care qualification
• In-depth knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
• Understanding of individual behaviour support plans and risk assessments
• Experience delivering PBS training to staff
• Experience partnering with children and their families

Responsibilities

• Develop and organise a high-quality PBS approach for children to gain life skills
• Lead delivery of person-centred PBS training and coaching for staff
• Co-produce individual support plans with children and families
• Coach staff to implement effective behaviour support strategies
• Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent PBS practice across settings

As a PBS lead, you will be assisting with the development, organisation, and delivery of a high-quality Positive Behaviour Support approach allowing children to develop the skills they need to enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Co-production will be a key part of your role, working in partnership with children and their families to identify any individual support needs, challenges impacting on their quality of life and develop effective individualised plans.

As a practice leader, you will ensure our staff teams benefit from the delivery of person-centred PBS training, the role modelling of good practice and coaching relating to individualised plans.

One of the best environments in SEND Luxborough Court School is a brand-new, purpose-built school registered for 150 pupils aged 5 – 19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. There is a large sports hall with changing facilities (the site was formally a Premier League football club’s training ground), a bespoke 6th form suite plus a number of other smaller individual spaces used for therapeutic intervention and bespoke support. The School benefits from extensive outdoor space plus a large central courtyard garden in the centre of the school and separate secondary and junior playgrounds, with a multi-use games area. There are good public transport connections with Chigwell Station less than a mile away, providing Central Line Tube services to London and Essex. The road links are good - the site is located near the M11, Junction 4.

• A minimum of three years’ experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs
• A relevant qualification (SEN/Health & Social Care)
• In-depth knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
• Understanding of individual behaviour support plans, young person risk assessments and targeted support
• Experience of delivering training needs
• Extensive experience of working in partnership with young people and their families
• Ability to support others to understand behaviours and collaborate to create and implement proactive strategies
• You’re also highly organised and ready to take the initiative
