Job summary

LDA Care Ltd is hiring a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant to support children & young people in their own homes within Shrewsbury, Shropshire and Telford area. The role focuses on person-centred care and developing effective support plans.

The candidate should have Level 3 Health & Social Care or equivalent, with desirable PBS qualifications. A commitment to high-quality care and collaboration with the team is essential.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications - Level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care or Mental Health studies.
  • Desirable: PBS qualification.
  • Desirable: Education in behaviour support.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Empathy, patience and a genuine passion for improving lives.
  • Ability to adapt to various environments and work collaboratively in a team.
  • Experience in support roles with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Case management: manage a caseload and deliver individualised support plans.
  • Assessment support: assist assessments and create meaningful support plans.
  • Training and Education: deliver staff training on low arousal approaches.
  • Service Development: contribute to course materials and research initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance: monitor behaviour management strategies and uphold standards.

Job description: Positive Behaviour Support Assistant - Supporting Children & Young People

Pay: £30,000 per annum

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire and Telford area

We a specialist care provider supporting individual adults that have a learning disability and or are on the autism spectrum, particularly those with significant behaviours that are behaviours of concern. This includes adults with additional mental health support needs and sensory processing needs. The care provided will be within their own home, a home that they have chosen, this will be domiciliary service where the care team visit the individual in their own home to deliver the support that they require.

Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist in managing a caseload, delivering high-quality, individualised support plans that cater to each person's unique needs.
  • Assessment Support: Help conduct thorough assessments and collaborate with colleagues to interpret results, creating meaningful support plans.
  • Training and Education: Deliver training programs to staff, ensuring adherence to low arousal approaches and promoting best practices.
  • Service Development: Contribute to the development of course materials and participate in research initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and review behaviour management strategies to ensure they meet individual needs and uphold our ethical standards.

Qualifications: The right candidate must hold one of the following:

  • Qualifications - level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care or Mental Health studies.

Desirable:

  • PBS qualification
  • Education in behaviour support

The right candidate must be able to evidence the following:

  • Experience in developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of others.
  • Ability to adapt to various environments and work collaboratively within team.
  • Experience or a background in support roles, particularly with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviours.
