Job summary

National Highways in Bedford is recruiting a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of civil engineering projects within the East region's 5-year rolling capital programme. You will coordinate across the supply chain, oversee external contractors and consultants, and ensure governance, quality, health and safety standards are met.

Based from the Bedford office, you will manage programme delivery, financial reporting, and risk, while driving continuous improvement and effective

Qualifications

Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
Proven portfolio and project management experience, with NEC 4 contract experience desirable.
Strong governance, legislation and technical standards understanding.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Programme management, financial reporting and risk management against capital expenditure budgets.
Oversee performance of external contractors and consultants to ensure quality and safety standards.
Maintain best practices in governance, customer and stakeholder communications.
Identify improvements and drive portfolio management best practices across operations.
Identify, manage and mitigate risks, issues, dependencies and constraints.
