Job Overview
- We're looking to hire a Portfolio Monitoring Analyst to join our recently created Portfolio Monitoring team, within the private credit investment team.
- The role will involve key portfolio monitoring processes across the Private Credit business (Western European focused lending business).
- Ability to interact and partner with borrowers, the investment team, finance, and investor relations team is important.
- The successful candidate will be execution-focused and actively involved in process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly portfolio company data collection for internal (e.g., portfolio monitoring, risk, financing) and external (e.g., investors) reporting, in partnership with the outsourced data monitoring team.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating quarterly portfolio monitoring reports ahead of portfolio reviews, including supporting monitoring excel reports. Understand and analyze financial models to challenge reported financials.
- Support the development of Hayfin's reporting framework to implement best-in-class processes supporting business growth.
- Support portfolio-level reporting and analytics, conducting deep dives to understand industry or portfolio trends, ensuring broader themes are considered during portfolio construction.
- Serve as a key business partner for asset-level data ad-hoc requests from internal or external parties.
- Contribute to private credit data integrity and governance framework.
Skills & Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in financial services, private markets, or a related field. Candidates with accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA), finance graduates, or relevant private markets buyside experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of finance, accounting, and fluency in reading financial statements across sectors.
- Team player with the ability to work autonomously and escalate issues when needed.
- Highly organized, attentive to detail, motivated, and eager to learn.
- Proficiency in a European language (German, French, Spanish) is a plus.
