Job summary

LMA Recruitment Limited in London is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join a growing specialist bank within its Bridging Finance and Specialist Mortgages divisions. This is a relationship-led role taking ownership of an allocated portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the main contact for brokers, borrowers and internal stakeholders.

You will manage ongoing servicing of facilities, assess requests for changes, and ensure accounts are monitored throughout their lifecycle with strong risk

Qualifications

• Experience in portfolio management within financial services.
• Exposure to bridging finance or specialist mortgages is preferred.
• Strong understanding of credit risk and secured lending facilities.
• Experience reviewing customer information and preparing credit papers or proposals.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the primary contact for brokers, borrowers and internal stakeholders.
• Handle requests for variations to existing lending facilities, including extensions and security releases.
• Assess customer requests, review supporting information and prepare credit proposals for consideration and approval.
• Monitor account performance, identify early warning indicators and escalate potential risks where appropriate.
• Review facilities approaching maturity and plan repayment or short-term extensions as needed.
• Liaise with Underwriting, Credit, Risk and Compliance to ensure decisions align with lending policies.
• Produce customer documentation and maintain accurate records across internal systems.
• Develop and maintain an appropriate decision-making mandate.
