An exciting opportunity has arisen for a growing firm of Chartered Accountants to recruit a Client Accountant/Portfolio Manager for their practice based in West Wickham. The role offers a salary of up to £55,000, along with auto-enrolment pension scheme and excellent progression opportunities.
The ideal candidate would be an ACA or ACCA qualified senior or finalist accountant with solid experience managing their own client portfolio. The practice prides itself on providing excellent service to individuals and OMBs in the Kent, Surrey, and South London areas. Responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, including the production of final statutory (FRS 102(1A) and FRS 105) and non-statutory accounts, as well as preparing corporate, partnership, and self-assessment tax returns, including business tax computations for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, sole traders, and individuals. Also, preparing quarterly VAT returns.
- Maintaining effective and proactive communication with clients through regular meetings and keeping detailed meeting notes using practice software.
- Recording time daily, reviewing client WIP monthly, and raising client bills promptly.
- Managing client budgets and time effectively.
- Onboarding new clients, including meetings and providing fee quotes.
- Addressing accountancy and tax-related queries from clients and staff, communicating clearly on all matters.
- Assisting with new accounting regulations and tax projects as they arise.
- Conducting technical research and informing clients of legislative changes affecting them.
- Supporting practice IT systems to ensure efficiency.
- Organizing and working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Assisting senior staff as needed.
Candidate requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years practice experience.
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Good knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105.
- Proactive in work prioritization and time management.
- Effective verbal and written communicator.
- Strong logical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with accounting software such as FreeAgent, Xero, QuickBooks, etc., and good knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Working knowledge of IRIS is desirable but not essential.
- Punctual and presentable, with the ability to fit into a hardworking office culture.
