Job description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Accountant to join a well-established and reputable accountancy firm based in Chichester, West Sussex, on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is suitable for an ACA or ACCA Qualified Senior Accountant with solid experience managing their own portfolio of clients. It is important that the Client Accountant has a few years PQE with ACA or ACCA. The qualified Client Accountant will have ambitions to grow the company and seek long-term career progression.

Responsibilities

1. Preparation and review of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, HNWIs, OMBs, limited companies, and charities.
2. Finalising year-end accounts, monthly bookkeeping, and quarterly VAT returns.
3. Preparation of income tax and corporation tax computations and returns.
4. Overseeing and supporting a team of junior accounts staff to assist with transactional tasks and review work.
5. Working in a busy, fast-paced practice with a diverse client base.

Candidate Requirements

• Confident, ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with PQE (ideally 3 years minimum experience).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience managing a growing portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for the company and its clientele.
• Proficiency with software including IRIS, Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
• Must be a driver with own vehicle.

Portfolio Manager Salary & Benefits

• Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week - 9 am to 5:30 pm, with 1 hour lunch).
• 4 days onsite and 1 day remote work (post-probation).
• Holiday scheme allowing buy or sell of up to 5 days per holiday year.
