Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

We’re building thriving communities as one of the UK’s largest housing groups and a leading developer of affordable housing.

We believe everyone is entitled to a good home they can afford, in a place they are proud to live. More than [number missing], people live in our homes.

If you want to experience work that’s truly rewarding, join us. Because when we achieve together, customers and communities thrive.

Work for Orbit. Believe in people.

The role

The Portfolio Team continually reviews the performance of Orbit’s 34,000+ social rented homes; through excellent data modelling and management, we propose asset management strategies to improve the portfolio performance.

The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for the annual update and management of our (Excel-based) Asset Performance Evaluation Model (APE) and Thriving Communities Models (TCS). These guide and support our decision-making, along with other models such as the Void Matrix.

What you'll achieve

You will deliver an annual model refresh program, monitoring and reporting on the impact of change on Orbit’s portfolio performance. Using the quantitative outputs and qualitative data, you’ll recommend appropriate strategies for Orbit’s homes and estates.

You’ll specifically focus on developing a pipeline of poorly performing schemes to be progressed by the wider business. Specific tasks involve:

  • Accountable for annual updates and maintenance of the team’s business tools (Excel databases/Power BI).
  • Interrogating and understanding data from colleagues to ensure our scheme/asset strategies are appropriate. Challenging all assumptions and exceptions to ensure data is accurate and current.
  • Producing a five-year Quality Improvement Pipeline (QIP), helping our customers move into better quality homes, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Continual review of portfolio performance data to propose improvement strategies and evolve our models.
  • Engaging with external parties on portfolio projects; helping them understand how Orbit records data and monitors portfolio performance to ensure the best outcomes.
What you'll bring
Essential skills
  • Enjoys manipulating large amounts of data accurately, quickly, and reporting the output.
  • Confident with cash-flow models, developing spreadsheets or databases to analyze business change.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a critical and logical approach.
  • Relevant experience, qualification, or equivalent.
  • Competent in use of Power BI and Mapping Tools (GIS).
  • Sector/property experience.
