A healthcare organization in Barrow-in-Furness is looking for a hard-working Porter to join its team at Furness General Hospital. The role involves supporting patient movement, waste disposal, and handling medical gases while ensuring high customer care standards. Candidates should have a driving license, basic numeracy and literacy skills, and a certificate in health and safety. This position requires working 32.5 hours a week over a 7-day rota, contributing to a dynamic healthcare environment.
We are looking for a Porter to join our team here at Furness General Hospital.
You should be hard working, punctual and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.

The aim of the role is to support the clinical teams in maintaining the optimum environment for our patients. The main duties are to support patient movement, removal and disposal of waste, handling of medical gases.

The post holder is required to undertake routine portering activities activities, which are task driven, and which require a basic level of competence within a limited amount of time under the direction of the Patient Environment Services at One Lancashire and South Cumbria. These need to be in line with the National Cleaning Standards, department standing Operational Procedures and Trust Policies. To ensure a timely and efficient patient movement whilst providing excellent levels of customer care.
