Job summary

Konecranes is recruiting a Port Service Engineer to maintain and repair port equipment including harbour cranes and straddle carriers. The role involves travel across coastal areas in the UK and possibly overseas on occasion, with a focus on electrical work, diagnostics and customer liaison.

Ideal candidates are electrically qualified, with basic mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Electrically qualified with a basic understanding of mechanics and hydraulics.
• Experience of Siemens S7 preferable.
• Good attention to detail.
• Be organised and self-motivated.
• Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics.
• Familiar with PUWER and LOLER regulations.
• UK driver’s licence.
• Ability to work at height.
• Willing to spend up to two weeks away from home.

Responsibilities

• Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection and testing of Port Solution products (harbour cranes, straddle carriers)
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in an industrial environment (Electrical, Drive technologies, PLCs)
• Consult with customers on repair and safety related issues
• Accurate and descriptive problem reporting
• Complete inspection and examination documentation
• Coordinate with customers on repairs and safety related issues
