Job summary

Konecranes is seeking a Port Service Engineer to maintain and repair harbour cranes, straddle carriers and related equipment across coastal sites in the UK. The role involves electrical installation, commissioning, inspection and testing, with occasional overseas work and regular travel to customer sites.

The candidate will have electrical qualifications, Siemens S7 familiarity, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification is required.
• Experience with Siemens S7 PLCs is preferred.
• Organised and self-motivated person with good time management.
• Proficiency in computer networking and diagnostics.
• UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to work at height and travel to coastal/remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection and testing of Port Solution equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions across electrical, drive technologies and PLCs in industrial environments.
• Consult with customers on repair and safety issues; report problems clearly.
• Complete inspection and examination documentation as required.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure safe, compliant repairs.

Job Description

Port Services at Konecranes focuses on the service, maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports,harboursand terminals - equipmentincludesmobile harbour cranes, straddlecarriersandcontainer handling equipment to name but a few.

We are recruiting a Port Service Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment.

Allour customersare located incoastal areas, so being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as beingelectrically-qualified. We are looking for candidates who are ideally based in the north of the UK, preferably in the northeast - Newcastle, Gateshead,Middlesbroughor the Humber area.

From time to time, this role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not a mandatory requirement.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers

Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions, primarily in Electrical equipment, DrivetechnologiesandPLCsin an industrial environment.

Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues

Accurate and descriptive problem reporting

Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate

Qualifications

What we are looking forin you:

Electricallyqualifiedwith a basic understanding ofmechanics andhydraulics

Experience of Siemens S7preferable

Be organised and self-motivated person.

Computer proficient including basic networking andcomponentdiagnostics.

Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER

UK driver’s licence

Ability to work at height

Able to spend periods of time away from home(up to two weeks at a time)
