Konecranes is seeking a Port Service Engineer to maintain and repair harbour cranes, straddle carriers and related port equipment across coastal sites in the UK. The role requires electrical qualifications, willingness to travel to customer sites, and the ability to work at height.

Qualifications

• Electrically qualified with basic mechanics and hydraulics.
• Experience with Siemens S7 preferred.
• Organised and self-motivated.
• Computer proficiency including networking and diagnostics.
• Familiar with PUWER and LOLER regulations.
• UK driving licence required.
• Able to work at height and travel up to two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Electrical installation, commissioning and testing of Port equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in electrical, drive technologies and PLCs.
• Consult with customers on repair and safety issues.
• Accurate problem reporting and documentation of inspections.
• Coordinate with customers on repair activities and safety requirements.

Job Description

Port Services at Konecranes focuses on the service, maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports,harboursand terminals - equipmentincludesmobile harbour cranes, straddlecarriersandcontainer handling equipment to name but a few.

We are recruiting a Port Service Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment.

Allour customersare located incoastal areas, so being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as beingelectrically-qualified. We are looking for candidates who are ideally based in the north of the UK, preferably in the northeast - Newcastle, Gateshead,Middlesbroughor the Humber area.

From time to time, this role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not a mandatory requirement.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers

Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions, primarily in Electrical equipment, DrivetechnologiesandPLCsin an industrial environment.

Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues

Accurate and descriptive problem reporting

Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate

Qualifications

What we are looking forin you:

Electricallyqualifiedwith a basic understanding ofmechanics andhydraulics

Experience of Siemens S7preferable

Be organised and self-motivated person.

Computer proficient including basic networking andcomponentdiagnostics.

Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER

UK driver’s licence

Ability to work at height

Able to spend periods of time away from home(up to two weeks at a time)
