Job summary

Portmeirion Group PLC is seeking a friendly Retail Assistant to join our pop-up shop team in Portsmouth on a zero hours contract. You will support the Store Manager in delivering excellent service, helping customers, managing stock, and ensuring a welcoming shopping experience.

You will engage customers, contribute to sales targets, assist with merchandising, stock checks and daily opening/closing procedures, and collaborate with the wider team to uphold store standards and brand values.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Flexible and reliable with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers, providing outstanding customer service.
• Support the achievement of sales, conversion, and average transaction value (ATV) targets.
• Maintain accurate pricing, promotional displays, and stock levels.
• Process deliveries and book stock onto the system accurately.
• Assist with visual merchandising and ensure displays are attractive and commercially effective.
• Encourage customers to join the company mailing list.
• Participate in regular stocktakes and inventory checks.
• Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and wider team to achieve store objectives.
• Support opening and closing procedures when required.
