Job summary

Langdale Leisure Limited is looking for a Pool and Leisure Assistant to join our on-site team at Langdale Hotel and Spa in Ambleside. The role offers full-time or part-time permanent work with 16–39 hours per week, on-site duties, and live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.

Salary is £25,861.49 per year, with potential bonus payments for fitness class delivery for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is desirable.
• Pool Plant Operations experience or qualification is desirable.
• Pool Responder/Lifeguard experience and knowledge of pool safety procedures desirable.
• First Aid qualification desirable or willing to obtain.
• Experience in leisure, fitness, hospitality or cleaning roles is desirable but not essential.
• Eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow through training and support.
• Proud to deliver excellent customer care.
• Friendly, approachable and confident with guests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the gym, pool, and public areas.

• Follow safety, hygiene and pool plant operation procedures.

Role Summary

Our Fitness and Leisure team are passionate about customer care, and knowledgeable about the products and services they offer to our guests. Our team thrive off delivering a fun and enjoyable experience to our guests and take pride in making a trip to the leisure facilities into a wonderful lifelong memory.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the gym, swimming pool, and public areas.
• Deliver professional, friendly, and welcoming customer service to members and guests.
• Follow departmental procedures, safety regulations, and hygiene standards in relation to pool plant operations.
• Promote fitness programmes, gym inductions, and leisure facilities to guests and members.
• Engage positively with guests to enhance their overall leisure experience.
• Support the team in creating a safe, enjoyable, and memorable environment.
• Assist with additional duties as required to support the smooth operation of the leisure facilities.
• Contribute to maintaining a welcoming and community-focused atmosphere.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Holds a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (desirable).
• Has Pool Plant Operations experience and/or qualification (desirable).
• Has Pool Responder/Lifeguard response experience and a strong understanding of pool safety procedures (desirable).
• First Aid qualified or willing to obtain certification.
• Previous experience in leisure, fitness, hospitality, or cleaning roles is desirable but not essential.
• Eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow their career through training and support.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer care.
• Friendly, approachable, and confident interacting with guests and members.
• Takes pride in creating positive and memorable customer experiences.
