Job summary

Langdale Leisure Limited is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to supervise the Stove Restaurant Kitchen team and support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and stock control. The role is on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa in Ambleside and involves working 39 hours per week.

We are looking for a reliable, organised individual with kitchen or stores experience, strong leadership, and good record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, catering, or stores experience is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work independently.
• Experience with stock control and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Kitchen Team Leader

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000, Dependent on Experience

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 39 hours per week

Live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.

This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD.

Role Summary

We are seeking a reliable and organised Kitchen Team Leader to support the smooth operation of our Stove Restaurant Kitchen, supervising our team of Kitchen Porters.

Working alongside our Head Chef, this role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and stock control.

Key Responsibilities

• Leads and supports a team of Kitchen Porters.
• Goods receiving food and non-food stock, managing quality, dates and damage.
• Follow the Food Safety Management System to ensure correct stock rotation of fridges, freezers and stores.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and schedule maintenance as needed.
• Record and process supplier invoices and credit notes using the procurement system, ensuring accuracy and accountability for cost of goods.

• Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation.
• Comfortable with record-keeping and computer systems.
• Able to work independently and follow established procedures.
• Previous kitchen, catering, or stores experience is required.
