Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Head of Pollution Performance to lead the organisation's pollution reduction strategy, reporting to the Director of Wastewater Operations. This senior role focuses on accountability, learning culture, and proactive risk management across pollution reduction initiatives.

The position is permanent and full-time (37 hours per week), with a hybrid working model and flexible location within the region, including regular site visits.

Qualifications

• Track record of delivering major multi-disciplinary change programmes and projects at senior level.
• Ability to create and secure business case approval at Executive level.
• Strong coordination and team-working skills across operational, compliance, engineering and project management teams.
• Ability to provide visionary leadership and translate strategic agendas into delivery.
• Experience in improving change competency within organisations.
• Understanding of project management techniques for portfolios of varying size.
• High level strategic planning and forward planning with forecasting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a unified pollution reduction plan across the organisation.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement in pollution management.
• Monitor, analyse and report KPIs related to pollution reduction.
• Enhance digital tools to provide visibility of risks and opportunities and build predictive capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery of pollution reduction goals.
• Oversee funding of the pollution reduction plan and align with budget and strategy.
