Job summary

NuStaff Recruitment is hiring a Polish Technician in Pontypool to join a busy production environment in the paint/quality function. You will rectify surface finishes on parts using a machine polisher and hand polishing as needed, ensuring quality and adherence to processes.

The role requires experience in correcting paint defects, thickness measurements, and finishes, with attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Immediate start and ongoing temporary assignment expected.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience correcting surface defects and contamination.
• Experience with paint thickness measurements and finishes.
• External paint detailing and surface finishing corrective actions.
• Experience with paint processing is advantageous.
• Automotive trade certificate in machine polishing/vehicle detailing preferred.
• Good numeracy and strong oral/written communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
• Positive, proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Rectify paint on parts using a machine-polisher, with hand-polish as required.

Polish Technician - Pontypool
£14.52 - £16.70 per hour | Temporary Ongoing | Immediate Start Available

Nu Staff are recruiting for a Polish Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Pontypool. This is an ongoing temporary opportunity within a busy production environment, working within the paint/quality function to rectify surface finish on parts.

As a Polish Technician, you'll rectify paint on parts using a machine operated polisher, drawing on your understanding of sanding materials and polishing processes to correct surface defects and contamination.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00AM - 4:00PM
• Friday: 7:00AM - 1:00PM

Possible Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday rotating shifts:
• 6:00AM - 2:00PM
• 2:00PM - 10:00PM

Pay Rates

£14.52 - £16.70 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Rectifying paint on parts using a machine operated polisher, with the ability to hand polish to requirements
• Preparing surfaces and rectifying paint contaminants (paint inclusions, orange peel etc.), using your paint expertise to find solutions
• Paying close attention to detail to maintain the aesthetic standards of the product
• Following an established process, suggesting improvements that benefit overall quality
• Working to strict deadlines that impact overall productivity levels
• Ensuring effective supply and movement of parts/products to and from the section
• Completing process documentation as required in line with build instructions
• Working with the paint department to rectify quality issues
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and hygiene at all times
• Following all Health & Safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience correcting surface defects and contamination
• Experience and understanding of paint thickness measurements and paint finishes
• External paint detailing and surface finishing corrective actions
• Experience and understanding of paint processing advantageous
• Automotive trade certificate in a related discipline (machine polishing / vehicle detailing) advantageous
• Good understanding of quality improvement and continuous improvement principles
• Numerate with good oral and written communication skills
• Able to work under pressure and prioritise own workload
• Positive, proactive, can-do attitude
