Job summary

AIG is seeking a Wording Specialist in Birmingham to help shape policy language and support underwriters across Property and related lines. You will drive guidelines, draft endorsements, and collaborate with Legal and Claims to align with underwriting intent.

The role emphasizes training, form libraries, and clear communication to ensure high-quality policy wording and risk coverage while supporting a front-office underwriting culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of policy language analysis and drafting experience, preferably in Property.
• Knowledge of UK Property markets and policy forms.
• Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish policy wording guidelines and counsel underwriters on best practices.
• Provide guidance on policy language to underwriters.
• Review competitor forms and advise on acceptability and endorsements.
• Draft manuscript endorsements to standard forms and tailor for client exposures.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims and Legal on new forms and endorsements.
• Maintain manuscript policy checklists and ensure alignment with underwriting intent.
• Develop training to help underwriters understand policy wording.
• Contribute to Underwriting Bulletins and communications on policy wording.
• Support Global Policy Forms Library and Digital Workflow development.
