Job summary

Membership Bespoke is seeking an experienced Head of Policy and Public Affairs to shape policy positions, strengthen political influence, and keep members informed on legislative developments. You will lead policy activity across the full cycle, monitor legislation, develop positions, and brief parliamentarians.

In a small, collaborative team, you will draft policy materials, brief MPs and officials, and present to members at meetings, webinars and events.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in policy, public affairs or political engagement.
• Strong understanding of the UK political system and Westminster.

Responsibilities

• Monitor political, legislative and regulatory developments and identify opportunities to influence policy.
• Promote policy proposals to parliamentarians, government officials and regulators.
• Lead responses to government consultations and parliamentary briefings.
• Produce parliamentary briefings, stakeholder materials and member communications.
• Translate complex legislation into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences.
• Build relationships with MPs, peers, civil servants and think tanks.
• Present policy updates to members through roundtables, webinars and events.
• Lead presence at conferences and industry events.
• Manage stakeholder mapping and tracking, identifying engagement opportunities.
• Collaborate with external agencies to deliver briefs and campaigns.
• Coordinate with marketing, communications and events to promote policy priorities.
• Monitor impact and report against objectives.
• Lead and develop two direct reports.
