Lead on key elements of the development of the Regulator's policy by collaborating with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders, overseeing its delivery and implementation.

Description

Policy Manager (c. 6 months FTC)

Locations: London or Birmingham

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development, delivery, and implementation of key policies using robust project management techniques.
  2. Conduct rigorous impact assessments, including equality impact assessments, of policy proposals.
  3. Maintain awareness of current thinking and best practices within the wider regulatory, legal services, professional education, training, and public policy sectors.
  4. Contribute to senior-level discussions and debates to inform the development of the Regulator's policies and educational agenda.
  5. Represent the Regulator at conferences and external events.
  6. Establish influential relationships with key external stakeholders, demonstrating a sound understanding of their agendas.
  7. Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of regulatory activities, including education and training requirements.
  8. Produce, supervise, and present a variety of reports, consultation papers, policy documents, and papers for committees and the board.

Candidate Profile

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Strong background in a Policy role, with experience in policy development in similar environments.
  • Proven leadership in project management and policy implementation.
  • Decisive, independent thinker capable of producing practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience in producing complex reports, consultation papers, and policy documents.
  • Excellent knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall operations.
  • Academic background in policy, law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership qualities and strategic drive.
  • Understanding and commitment to the values of the Not For Profit sector.
