Job summary

Northern Ireland Public Service Ombudsman is seeking a Policy and Engagement Officer to support the Director of Improvement, Engagement and Impact and Senior Policy & Engagement Officer.

You will help develop and implement learning from NIPSO investigations, including maladministration and local government standards investigations, and work to disseminate this learning to improve public services and standards of conduct.

Qualifications

• Policy analysis experience or capability
• Research and evidence synthesis skills
• Stakeholder engagement abilities
• Understanding of public sector decision processes

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and policy analysis to support investigations and learning
• Develop outcome and impact measurements from learning across investigations
• Interpret case decisions and thresholds to inform standards improvements
• Engage with networks of public bodies, elected representatives and regulators to disseminate learning
