Job summary

VANRATH is recruiting a Legal Officer to join a respected public sector organisation in Belfast City Centre on an interim contract. The role provides legal advice and support across the organisation, with involvement in casework, legal research and policy development.

The ideal candidate will hold a current practice certificate from the Law Society of Northern Ireland, enabling them to practise as a Solicitor in NI.

Qualifications

  • Current practice certificate from the Law Society of Northern Ireland to practise as a solicitor.
  • Experience in legal case management, legal research and providing legal advice.
  • Discrimination law or employment law experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support across departments.
  • Prepare and manage legal case files with accuracy.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant matters.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence as required.
  • Support development and review of organisational policies.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on legal processes.
  • Ensure documentation and casework meet high standards.
  • Assist colleagues with legal queries and requirements.
  • Ensure work complies with relevant legal standards and policies.
  • Undertake additional duties as appropriate.
