About the role
We are seeking a Policy Engagement Coordinator (Practice) to join us on a Fixed-Term Contract to the end of .
With a strong service ethos and excellent data and information skills, you will lead the design, delivery and ongoing development of systems and processes that enable timely, user-driven, and impactful engagement between academia and the policy world. Working closely with the UPEN network and wider stakeholders, you will help build sustainable capabilities for rapid response and effective connections across the research-policy ecosystem.
This role will focus on developing and embedding infrastructure such as frameworks, convening models, and engagement mechanisms that reduce fragmentation, promote best practice, and create long-term value. You will apply service design principles to ensure that UPEN’s infrastructure is user-centred, evidence-informed, and capable of delivering high-quality, repeatable, and scalable interventions that meet the needs of both researchers and policymakers.

About you
You will have a strong track record in policy engagement, knowledge exchange, or research-to-practice brokerage, with proven experience of delivering complex projects using agile or iterative approaches. You will bring a user-centred and data-informed mindset, supported by experience in service or information design and skills in data analysis.
You are confident aligning academic expertise with policy needs, managing responsive programmes, and generating insights to support decision-making and collaboration. You communicate clearly across academic and policy contexts and are skilled in managing a wide range of stakeholders. You are comfortable facilitating workshops, commissioning and overseeing technical development, and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Ideally, you will also bring experience with CRM or knowledge exchange platforms, and an understanding of digital standards, governance, or the use of AI-based tools in policy settings. Inclusivity, responsiveness, and intercultural awareness are central to your way of working.
