Deliver complete components of a policy launch or cross-functional work product that are integrated into an overarching project, creating meaningful impact in policy work with minimal assistance.

Design, execute, and advocate for policy and standards frameworks, engaging with cross-functional partners to drive changes that promote trust and mitigate risk for our client. Assess emerging issues and topics, own at least one workflow or project area, and evaluate the impact of local law updates and active litigation. Plan and execute the majority of prioritized project work independently, leveraging the team for support.

Role Responsibilities:

• Independently identify and recommend creative solutions to evolving or adapting policy problems.
• Address escalated issues or triage when required, in a timely manner.
• Deconstruct complex problems, frame policy issues, and contextualize solutions for management, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
• Identify trends, anticipate challenges, and develop strategies for ambiguous problems without clear solutions.
• Collaborate within teams to communicate knowledge related to various tasks.
• Identify key stakeholders, build networks, and facilitate cross-team collaboration for success.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
• Show thought leadership by engaging with external partners on policy/process issues or innovative policy approaches.
• Coordinate timelines, goals, and objectives for project components.
• Work with cross-functional partners, including technical and vendor teams, to support the launch and implementation of sustainable policies.
• Understand the implications of policy and process changes on systems, enforcement, and operations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of policy development and implementation.
• Ensure policies are developed in a way that can be adopted by enforcement teams.
• Manage and implement global product policies with regional focus, considering local culture, values, and community standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to develop and implement product policies and standards across various products.
• Participate in investigations and respond to inquiries from external parties, reviewing and processing requests and real-world investigations.
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize policy issues affecting the client, understanding their impact on business and users.
• Resolve high-impact policy escalations across products with minimal guidance.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong communication skills, effective across audiences and contexts, both written and oral.
• Knowledge of online, international, and multilingual communities.
• Understanding of how to handle disruptive and unexpected events threatening stakeholders or the public.
• Proficiency in a foreign language such as German, French, Mandarin, Spanish, or Russian.
• Knowledge of policies, product platforms, and internet policies, including legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with internet technologies, policy, and regulatory environments, content moderation, and online safety.
• Ability to speak and write fluently in French and English.
