Job description

Deliver comprehensive policy launch components or cross-functional work products that are integrated into an overarching project, creating meaningful impact in policy work with minimal assistance.

Design, execute, and advocate for policy and standards frameworks, engaging with cross-functional partners to drive trust and mitigate risks for our client. Assess emerging issues, own at least one workflow or project area, and evaluate the impact of local law updates and active litigation. Plan and execute most prioritized project work independently, leveraging team support as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Independently identify and recommend innovative solutions to evolving policy challenges.
  • Address escalated issues or triage promptly when required.
  • Deconstruct complex problems, frame policy issues, and contextualize solutions for management, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
  • Identify trends, anticipate challenges, and develop strategies for ambiguous problems without clear solutions.
  • Collaborate within teams to share knowledge on a broad set of tasks.
  • Build networks with key stakeholders to facilitate cross-team collaboration and success.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Begin to demonstrate thought leadership by engaging with external partners on policy/process issues or innovative approaches.
  • Coordinate timelines, goals, and objectives for assigned project components.
  • Work with cross-functional partners, including technical and vendor teams, to support policy launch and implementation.
  • Understand the implications of policy and process changes on systems, enforcement, and operations.
  • Show working knowledge of policy development and implementation.
  • Understand core implications of policy development, including systems and enforcement considerations.
  • Ensure policies are developed for seamless adoption by enforcement teams through end-to-end understanding.
  • Establish and manage global product policies and standards with regional insights and cultural understanding.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to develop and implement product policies across various products, including handling investigations and external inquiries.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize policy issues affecting the business and users now or in the future.
  • Resolve high-impact cross-product policy escalations with minimal guidance.

Skills & Experience:

  • Effective communication skills in both written and oral formats.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and contexts.
  • Knowledge of online, international, and multilingual communities.
  • Understanding of how to manage disruptive or unexpected events impacting stakeholders or the public.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as German, French, Mandarin, Spanish, or Russian.
  • Fundamentals of policies, including product platform knowledge.
  • Understanding of internet policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with internet technologies, policy, and regulatory environments, especially regarding online safety and content moderation.
  • Proficiency in French and English communication skills.
