Job summary

The Isle of Man Government invites applications for a Policy and Legislation Officer within the Department of Health and Social Care. You will research complex issues, develop policy and progress primary and secondary legislation, engaging with stakeholders and collaborating with colleagues across Government to ensure practical, evidence-based proposals.

About the role

Ready to influence the future of health and social care across the Isle of Man? Join the Department of Health and Social Care as a Policy and Legislation Officer and help shape the future of health and social care across the Isle of Man. Working across a varied portfolio, you'll research complex issues, develop policy, progress primary and secondary legislation, engage with stakeholders and collaborate with colleagues across Government to ensure proposals are evidence-based, practical and deliver positive outcomes. From early policy development through to legislative delivery, you'll prepare briefings, consultations, drafting instructions and advice that help turn ideas into effective legislation.

No previous policy or legislation experience is required to succeed in this role. You'll join a small and supportive team where you'll be encouraged to develop specialist knowledge and gain experience across a broad range of policy and legislative work. If you're curious, enjoy learning and can apply sound judgement to complex issues, you'll have the opportunity to build a rewarding career while contributing to work that supports health and social care services across the Island.
