This role is a key part of the Church of England's response to recent safeguarding reports, focusing on developing and overseeing safeguarding structures and operations.
The Safeguarding Structures Team, within the Archbishops’ Council, is responsible for delivering work related to safeguarding oversight, including the establishment of a scrutiny body.
This is a three-year fixed-term contract until July 2028.
The Policy Adviser (Scrutiny) will initially focus on policy development concerning the scrutiny aspects of safeguarding structures, including research, analysis, and drafting policy papers for decision-making. The role involves working across all workstreams related to scrutiny, with priorities on designing complaint processes and interim provisions for end-stage complaints.
