Job summary

North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe is seeking a dedicated Policing Lecturer to join the Sport & Uniformed Services team. You will teach, assess and support learners, fostering an inclusive learning environment and driving learner success.

The role offers a permanent, part‑time contract (29 hours per week) with a pro‑rata salary range of £33,787 to £42,766. An actual salary band of £27,600.65 to £34,935.61 is also provided, with eligibility for the Teachers Pension Scheme.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach or willing to train toward a teaching qualification if currently unqualified.
• Have a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification at Level 3 with Level 2 English and Maths.
• Minimum five years’ industry experience within policing or a related public service sector.
• Experience with innovative teaching methods in industry-related environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment in Policing programmes.
• Assess student work, monitor progress and provide timely feedback to support achievement.
• Support learners to fulfil potential by identifying needs and intervening when underperforming.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment promoting participation and success.
• Develop engaging learning resources and contribute to curriculum development activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure programmes run effectively and meet quality standards.
• Participate in student recruitment activities including interviews and open events.
• Maintain accurate records, including assessment documentation and learning plans.
• Support safeguarding and student wellbeing and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Contribute to quality improvement, standardisation and CPD activities.
