Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is seeking an experienced vehicle technician to inspect, diagnose and repair police vehicles and a wider fleet of cars, vans and plant. The role features a 37-hour week and the chance to join an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.

The ideal applicant will have proven maintenance and diagnostic skills across a multi‑franchise fleet, with eligibility for an NPPV check on appointment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a vehicle technician with diagnostics and repairs.
• Maintenance, inspection and repair of vehicles.
• Out-of-hours call-out rota involvement.
• NPPV check required on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a varied fleet of vehicles including police vehicles.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and diagnostics across a multi‑franchise fleet.
• Perform mechanical repairs and fault rectification.
• Support out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
