Job summary

West Mercia Police is seeking Police Staff Investigators (PSI) at PIP level 2 for permanent roles across Hereford, Kidderminster, Redditch, Shrewsbury, Telford and Worcester. The role focuses on preventing and detecting crime, and contains 37 hours per week on a full-time pattern.

Salary ranges from £33,603 to £39,276 with opportunities for travel between locations. Closing date is 09:00 on Monday 30th November 2026. CV-only process and no home working.

We are seeking a number of PIP 2 qualified Police Staff Investigators based in the below locations:

• Shrewsbury
• Telford
• Kidderminster
• Worcester
• Redditch
• Hereford

We will consider PIP 1 qualified candidates if they meet the requirements detailed on the attached role profile. Please pay particular attention to the knowledge, experience and key skills on the role profile - the salary will be lower than the advertised salary for a PIP 1 qualified PSI.

Although the roles are based in these locations there may be a requirement to travel between these locations to support investigations.

We would ideally like full time people but we will consider part time candidates where it would work with our requirements.

The main purpose of the role is to prevent and detect crime. To investigate criminal activity. To actively participate in a wide range of evidence gathering and criminal investigation tasks involving victims, witnesses, technical sources and suspects

There will be no home working with these roles.
