Job description

Warwickshire Police Community Support Officers

Full-time vacancies available

If you are interested in part-time vacancies, please email RecruitmentSupport@warwickshire.police.uk to check if this is viable.

September 2025 Intake

Salary including allowances is just over £31,000! The Police also receive yearly increments.

Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) inspire confidence on the streets of Warwickshire. They strive to make our communities safer and stronger, performing one of the most demanding roles in the modern police force. PCSOs cannot make arrests and do not carry handcuffs or a baton. They rely on their ability to understand and communicate effectively, especially in challenging situations.

No two days are the same; working with diverse colleagues and engaging with the community, you will be known, talked to, and trusted by local residents.

A member of the recruitment team will contact you if additional information is needed to support your application.

After shortlisting, you will be invited to complete a Values and Behaviours Assessment and a Situational Judgment Test. You can complete these in any order and at your convenience within a 7-day period.

Please note that assessments can only be completed with one police force. Once registered with a force, if you do not complete or are unsuccessful in the assessments, you will be unable to reapply to any police force for 3 months.

The next stage involves an interview with current Police Community Support Officers and other force representatives.

If successful, pre-employment checks including vetting, medical examination, and employment references will follow.

For further queries, contact the recruitment team at recruitmentsupport@warwickshire.police.uk.

The main role of a PCSO is to work within communities to enhance safety and provide reassurance, thereby reducing crime and the fear of crime.

All post holders are expected to adhere to the ethics and values of the Police Service, as outlined in the nationally recognized Competency and Values Framework (CVF).

The CVF comprises six competencies grouped into three categories:

  • Resolute, compassionate, and committed
  • Inclusive, enabling, and visionary leadership
  • Intelligent, creative, and informed policing

Candidates should be operating at or working towards Level 1 of the CVF.

Applicants must hold a current, full driving license.

We expect to commence employment of the successful candidates in September 2025. Please apply as soon as possible.

Part-time positions will be reviewed upon request.
