Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a motivated Podiatrist to join our small rural team serving Shetland. The post is based at Lerwick Health Centre with clinics at Gilbert Bain Hospital and outreach sites; travel across the area is essential.

There are opportunities in MSK, diabetes and wound care, and rotational nail surgery clinics. This substantive, full-time role offers a Band 5 salary (£34,544–£43,039) plus a Distant Island Allowance (£2,578) and relocation assistance up to £8,000.

Qualifications

• Motivated, enthusiastic podiatrist.
• Ability to travel across the Shetland service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide podiatric interventions in Lerwick and outreach clinics (Gilbert Bain Hospital, ILC, care homes).
• Work in MSK, diabetes and wound care clinics and rotational nail surgery clinics.
• Organise workloads effectively and contribute to CPD and service improvements.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and team orientated Podiatrist to join our small rural team providing podiatric interventions to the population of Shetland.

The post is based at Lerwick health centre, with other clinics held at the Gilbert Bain hospital, Independent Living Centre (ILC), outlying health centres, domiciliary visits and care homes. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to work in specialist clinics, namely MSK, diabetes and wound care and rotational nail surgery clinics. This is an exciting post also open to recent graduates who may wish to increase their clinical skills.
