Job summary

The NHS Shetland Podiatry Service is seeking a motivated podiatrist to join a small rural team. The role covers Lerwick Health Centre, Gilbert Bain Hospital and outreach clinics with travel across the area essential.

You can develop in MSK, diabetes and wound care clinics, with CPD and service improvement support. The post is suited to recent graduates seeking to expand clinical skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified podiatrist with registration to practise in the UK.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide podiatric interventions to the population of Shetland.
  • Travel across Lerwick and surrounding clinics, including hospital and care homes.
  • Participate in MSK, diabetes and wound care clinics and rotation nail surgery.

Job description

Band 5 - Salary Range £34,544 to £43,039 per annum

Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum

A Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 is also available

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and team orientated Podiatrist to join our small rural team providing podiatric interventions to the population of Shetland.

The post is based at Lerwick health centre, with other clinics held at the Gilbert Bain hospital, Independent Living Centre (ILC), outlying health centres, domiciliary visits and care homes. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to work in specialist clinics, namely MSK, diabetes and wound care and rotational nail surgery clinics. This is an exciting post also open to recent graduates who may wish to increase their clinical skills
