Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a POCT Associate Practitioner to support point of care testing across hospital sites. The role includes training users, monitoring QA/QC, and troubleshooting POCT devices to ensure reliable results.

You will help manage POCT devices, contribute to policy implementation, and operate within ISO 15189 alignment as the service evolves toward accreditation. Strong IT skills and NHS experience are desirable.

Formación

• Evidence of academic achievement such as HNC, NVQ4, BTEC or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of: Laboratory procedures & Laboratory H&S
• Experience of Microsoft Office
• Suitable qualification in Information Technology (eg. CLAIT/ECDL) Knowledge of POCT equipment
• Knowledge of POCT software
• Experience Essential
• Previous NHS & healthcare experience
• Previous experience in working in a laboratory environment.
• Previous experience and knowledge of working with Point of Care Testing (POCT) instrumentation
• Previous experience in assisting or performing training sessions

Responsabilidades

• Provide support for all Health Board staff and areas that undertake point of care testing.
• Train users and monitor performance of external quality assurance and internal quality control.
• Troubleshoot device and user problems across POCT devices.
• Assist with the management of all POCT devices across SBUHB, including training and competency assessments.
• Contribute to implementation, compliance and maintenance of the POCT Policy to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
