Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Project Controls Manager to help establish a new PMO within the Great Grid Partnership in Birmingham. You will lead monthly performance measurement, develop dashboards and governance across a portfolio of major projects, and deliver actionable insights for executive decision-making.

Ideal candidates will have strong data analytics, experience with Power BI and Excel, and a background in project controls or PMO within engineering, infrastructure or energy sectors,

Qualifications

• Experience in project controls or PMO environments.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain dashboards and reports.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly performance measurement and reporting cycle across multiple projects and functions.
• Collect, analyse and coordinate project controls data to provide insights.
• Develop and improve management dashboards, reporting tools and data sources.
• Maintain Power BI dashboards and reports with high data accuracy.
• Support structured project controls reviews and cross-functional workshops.
• Identify opportunities for digitisation, automation and continuous improvement.
• Provide feedback on data quality and root causes of issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial, planning, quality and delivery teams to align reporting standards.
• Support senior leadership with insightful reporting and recommendations.
