Job summary

B&M Retail is recruiting an IT PMO Lead to join the Technology team at Speke, Liverpool. You will govern the technology change portfolio, drive best practice and provide oversight across a complex project portfolio.

You will work with senior stakeholders, production of executive updates, and delivery assurance across programmes. The role requires strong PMO experience in IT, governance knowledge, and advanced Excel/Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• Significant PMO experience in a medium to large IT environment.
• Strong understanding of project and programme governance.
• Experience producing executive-level reporting and portfolio insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology team as an IT PMO Lead. Based at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of our Technology change portfolio, ensuring projects and programmes are governed effectively and delivered successfully. This role would suit an experienced PMO professional who enjoys working with senior stakeholders, driving best practice, and providing clear oversight across a complex project portfolio.

The Role Will Include

• Managing portfolio governance, controls and reporting
• Supporting project prioritisation, planning and resource management
• Producing portfolio updates and insights for senior stakeholders
• Monitoring risks, issues, dependencies and project performance
• Facilitating governance forums and portfolio review meetings

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• Significant PMO experience within a medium to large IT environment
• A strong understanding of project and programme governance

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience supporting technology change and transformation programmes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project skills

It Would Be Desirable If You Also Have

• Retail sector experience
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies
• PMO certifications such as P3O, MoP or PMO Practitioner
• Experience implementing PMO frameworks and processes
