Job summary

Converge UK is seeking an experienced Head of PMO to establish and lead a high‑performing PMO across our Technology & Services function. Hybrid work from Converge HQ, Stafford, and close collaboration with the Managed Services team.

You’ll shape governance, delivery standards, and portfolio reporting while coaching a team of PMOs and Project Managers. The role requires a track record in IT/Technology Services PMOs, strong budget and risk management, and certifications such as PRINCE2/MSP/Agile.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading a PMO within the IT/Technology Services space.
• Experience building or transforming PMO functions.
• Experience implementing project governance, delivery frameworks, portfolio reporting and controls.
• Direct leadership of Project Managers and Programme Managers.
• Accountability for delivery of complex tech projects and programmes, including budget and risk management.
• Strong commercial and financial management across project portfolios.
• Outstanding leadership to grow high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Create and embed a best-in-class PMO to drive governance, consistency, and delivery excellence.
• Define PMO strategy, operating model, governance, and delivery standards.
• Ensure projects deliver on time, within scope, budget, and quality.
• Provide portfolio oversight, reporting, forecasting, and delivery assurance.
• Lead, coach, and develop PMO professionals and Project Managers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Pre-Sales, Consultancy, Engineering, Finance and Risk teams.
• Manage portfolio priorities, capacity, financial performance, and delivery risks.
• Act as escalation point for complex delivery challenges.
• Drive PMO maturity and delivery capability across the business.
