Job description

  • This is a 12-month fixed term contract, offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact across a busy portfolio – working with a wide range of stakeholders and bringing structure, insight and momentum to delivery.
  • Be the engine behind confident decision making – keep governance on track so change teams can deliver at pace, with clarity and control.
  • Shape quality and assurance – help teams align to the Change Framework and embed proportionate controls that protect outcomes.

About the role:

This is a key co‑ordination role at the heart of change delivery. As a PMO Co‑ordinator, you’ll support effective, proportionate governance across a portfolio or delivery team – making sure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. Your work will help stakeholders stay informed, risks stay visible, and decisions stay well‑grounded, enabling successful delivery and stronger outcomes for colleagues and customers.

In this role, you’ll bring order, visibility and assurance to a fast‑moving delivery environment. You’ll work closely with project and programme teams to ensure governance is well planned, controls are in place, and reporting is accurate, timely and meaningful.

You’ll take ownership of the governance rhythm across your portfolio, maintaining governance schedules, coordinating key meetings and ensuring stakeholders receive clear, timely communications. By keeping activities aligned to delivery plans, you'll help create the structure and momentum needed for successful project delivery.

Working closely with project and programme teams, you’ll embed and monitor delivery controls in line with the Change Framework, providing first‑line assurance that agreed standards, processes and governance expectations are being followed. You'll also support assurance activity by tracking the implementation of recommendations and helping teams strengthen quality, consistency and compliance.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate delivery intelligence, including project plans, risks, issues, dependencies and constraints, ensuring emerging concerns are identified early and actions are in place to minimise impact. Alongside this, you'll support effective financial management through the development, maintenance and reporting of budgets, resource plans and forecasts.

A key part of the role will be producing high‑quality reporting that provides stakeholders and governance forums with clear, timely and meaningful insights to support informed decision‑making. You'll also contribute to a variety of priority initiatives and ad‑hoc activities, providing flexible PMO support where it is needed most to help drive successful delivery outcomes.

About you:

You’re organised, proactive and comfortable working across multiple priorities. You enjoy building structure, improving ways of working, and helping teams deliver with confidence. You’re also someone who can work collaboratively while applying a constructive eye for detail and quality.

To join the team, you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Programme, Portfolio or Change Management Office
  • A solid understanding of project delivery methodologiesand confidence using (or quickly learning) project planning tools.
  • Strong co‑ordination and organisationskills, with the ability to plan and manage multiple activities at once.
  • Excellent attention to detailand a commitment to producing accurate, reliable information.
  • Strong MS Officecapability (for example, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.

You’ll also be recognised for strengths such as:

  • Business focus– understanding what “good” looks like in delivery, sharing knowledge, and helping teams apply standards proportionately.
  • Delivering results– bringing ideas, improving quality, and helping others achieve stronger outcomes.
  • Executing successfully– showing initiative, embracing change, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Customer focus– building trusted relationships through clear communication and consistent follow‑through.
  • Personal effectiveness– taking ownership of your development, balancing priorities, and staying calm under pressure.
  • Management of Portfolios (MoP) Foundation
  • P3O Foundation (Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices)
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)
  • Management of Value Foundation
  • PRINCE2 / PRINCE2 Agile (or equivalent)
