Job description

If you're a passionate, fully qualified teacher looking for a role where every small achievement is a huge milestone, we'd love to hear from you.

We're recruiting on behalf of a welcoming SEN school in Hertfordshire that supports children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a setting where creativity, patience and compassion are valued just as highly as teaching ability.

Whether you already have experience teaching pupils with PMLD or you're a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education, this school offers a supportive environment where you'll be encouraged to develop your skills and build a fulfilling long-term career.

As a PMLD Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every child can thrive.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and wider professionals to provide a holistic approach to learning.
  • Support pupils with complex learning difficulties, sensory needs and physical disabilities.
  • Celebrate every achievement, helping pupils develop communication, independence and life skills.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
  • A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Previous SEN or PMLD experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent position.
  • Pay to Scale (MPS/UPS).
  • Ongoing CPD and specialist SEN training.
  • Dedicated support from an experienced education consultant.
  • The opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative school community.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact every single day.

If you're ready to inspire, support and transform the lives of pupils with complex needs, we'd love to hear from you.
