Job summary

Castle Education is recruiting a dedicated PMLD Teacher for a long-term, ongoing role in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The school group supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and other complex needs, delivering tailored learning in an inclusive environment.

You will plan engaging lessons, work with Teaching Assistants, and collaborate with families and therapists to support pupil progress while building strong relationships within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• QTS required.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally including PMLD or complex needs.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons around individual learning needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for helping every pupil reach their potential.

Castle Education is working in partnership with 3 specialist schools in the Harrogate area, to recruit a dedicated PMLD Teacher to join their team on a long-term, ongoing basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Teacher who wants more than day to day supply work. We are looking for someone who is keen to secure a consistent role, build relationships with pupils and staff, and become part of a supportive school community.

This is a specialist school in Harrogate supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), physical disabilities and other complex needs.

The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where every pupil is valued as an individual. Learning is tailored to each young person’s needs, with a strong focus on communication, independence, wellbeing and personal development.
