Just Teachers Ltd. is recruiting for a full-time SEND teaching assistant in Louth to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex needs, PMLD, or in care or specialist settings.
• Understanding of profound learning needs and how to adapt support to enable engagement and participation.
• Confidence using sensory approaches, communication tools (PECS or Makaton), and a patient, nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of highly individualised and sensory-based learning activities by working alongside teaching staff to adapt tasks to meet complex needs.
• Assist pupils with communication, physical, and personal care needs, ensuring dignity, safety, and well-being at all times.
• Use structured, supportive strategies – including sensory resources, tactile activities, communication aids, and consistent routines – to promote engagement and responsiveness.
• Encourage positive interactions and engagement by providing calm, consistent support, helping pupils regulate, and responding to their individual communication methods.

About the role:

A supportive SEND setting in Louth providing specialist provision for children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school focuses on delivering highly personalised learning experiences, sensory engagement, and therapeutic support to help pupils develop communication, independence, and quality of life skills. This role is full-time to start ASAP.

Pre-requisites:

• Confidence using sensory approaches, communication tools (such as PECS or Makaton), and a patient, nurturing approach.
• Relevant training or qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience.
