Job summary

Educato Limited, in partnership with a specialist school in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support children with PMLD and complex needs. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to help pupils access learning, communicate, and develop confidence.

Full-time, permanent role starting September 2026; enhanced DBS required; you\'ll contribute to personalised learning, personal care, and holistic development within a caring school environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on an individual and small-group basis throughout the school day
• Helping pupils access a highly personalised curriculum tailored to EHCP outcomes
• Encouraging communication through approaches such as Makaton, PECS, AAC and sensory-based learning
• Assisting with personal care, mobility and daily living activities with dignity and compassion
• Delivering engaging sensory activities that promote interaction, communication and independence
• Building trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, confident and understood
• Collaborating with teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure consistent, holistic support
• Promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and meaningful engagement in learning
