Job summary

Senploy in London is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils with complex needs, including SEND and PMLD. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with daily activities, and help pupils access learning in ways suited to their needs.

The role emphasizes patience, compassion, and the ability to stay calm throughout the day, with personal care and mobility support as needed. Training in moving and handling is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Experience with PMLD, personal care, moving and handling, or communication support is useful.
• Patience, attentiveness and compassion; ability to remain calm and reassuring.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support during learning and daily activities.
• Help pupils access classroom activities in ways suited to their needs.
• Support communication, interaction and engagement.
• Provide personal care with dignity, sensitivity and respect.
• Follow care plans and school procedures.
• Assist with moving and handling, following training and safe practices.
• Support pupils through transitions and routine changes.
• Notice and share observations about pupils' wellbeing and progress.
• Work with families and relevant professionals where appropriate.
