Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living is seeking a committed Personal Assistant to provide 2:1 support for an 11-year-old living in Aberdare. You will accompany him to play centres, parks, and trips, helping him participate in activities while prioritising his safety and independence and building a trusting relationship.

Hours are 12.5 per week during term time and 16 per week during school holidays, with flexible days including Saturdays. The rate is £14.30 per hour.

Qualifications

• DBS check required and satisfactory references.
• Part-time, permanent position; submission of a National Insurance number; probationary period.
• Pay monthly on receipt of a payslip; 5.6 weeks paid holiday pro rata.

Personal Assistant 2:1 Support

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an 11-year-old young man living in the Aberdare area with my family. I have ASD. I enjoy going to play centres, McDonalds, Tesco, the park and just a ride in the car.

I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with my independence and to keep me safe in the community.

PLACE OF WORK

The main purpose of the job is to accompany me to places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times.

HOURS OF WORK

12.5 hours per week term time / 16 hours per week school holidays - flexible, during the week and on a Saturday

RATE OF PAY

£14.30 per hour

ABOUT THE JOB

This post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.

Though a part-time job, this is a permanent position and is subject to submission of a National Insurance number. A probationary period will apply in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on receipt of a payslip from Dewis Centre for Independent Living.

• You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata).

You will be required to attend any training that is identified as necessary.
