Job summary

PeoplePlus is seeking a Plumbing Tutor to work on-site at HMP The Mount, delivering Plumbing qualifications up to Level 2 and mentoring prison-based learners to build skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting their long-term goals.

You will help design effective training plans and deliver guidance to ensure high-quality courses that engage learners and help them reach their potential, with probationary support for teaching or assessing qualifications.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Plumbing qualification is required.
• Experience delivering vocational based training is essential.
• Teaching or assessing qualification is desirable for progression.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Plumbing qualifications up to Level 2 to learners.
• Support small groups of prison-based learners to develop skills and behaviours.
• Ensure training plans exist and provide guidance to learners for long-term goals.

Job description

Based on-site at HMP The Mount you will deliver Plumbing qualifications up to level 2, working with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations.

Our Tutors ensure that the appropriate training plans are in place and that the advice and guidance is given when required while ensuring they deliver the highest level of quality courses that engage with the learners and help them to reach their potential.

What are we looking for?

• Level 3 Plumbing qualification
• An expert in your field with substantial vocational experience
• Experience of delivering vocational based training
• A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable
• Ability to display a wide range of training methods to engage learners

If you don’t currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, we are able to support you through the appropriate qualifications and assessments, as part of your probationary period.
