Job summary

Bedford College Group seeks a Technician in Plumbing for our Construction department at Tresham College (Corby/Wellingborough campuses). The role involves managing workshops, stock, and practical delivery while ensuring safety standards and learner support.

The position is permanent full-time, 37 hours/week, located on campus with rights to work in the UK. Interviews will be held on 08 October 2026; salary £24,552–£26,754 p.a. DOE, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Holds a relevant Construction or Building Services trade diploma, supported by practical industry experience.
• Maintain stock inventories, order materials, repair tools and equipment, and keep records.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices; willing to achieve First Aid and forklift qualifications.
• Builds positive relationships with learners; supports achievement and progression; communicates confidently.
• Upholds safeguarding, professionalism and flexible working across College locations.

Responsibilities

• Workshop management and professional standards to support high-quality student delivery.
• Stock, budget and resource management to ensure materials and resources are available.
• Provide guidance and cover practical delivery for lecturers and learners.
• Maintain health, safety and workshop compliance; manage COSHH assessments.
• Support safeguarding and ongoing professional development across the team.
