Job summary

John Ruskin College in Croydon is seeking a Plumbing Lecturer to deliver and assess Level 1-2 Plumbing courses. You will work in the TEC department, act as a personal tutor, promote attendance and contribute to planning and development of the subject area.

The role welcomes applicants with industry experience and supports you to gain teaching qualification if needed, in a forward-thinking, fast-paced environment with state-of-the-art facilities.

Qualifications

• PGCE or DET/DTLLS or Cert ED is essential.
• Experience delivering teaching up to Level 2 in Plumbing.
• Level 3 Plumbing qualification is desirable (Level 2 may be considered).
• Relevant plumbing industry experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and assess on Level 1-2 Plumbing courses.
• Act as personal tutor and promote attendance.
• Collaborate with Programme Manager and department to drive improvement.
• Support colleagues in planning and reviewing subject delivery.

Job Description

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and talented Plumbing Lecturer to join our friendly and professional TEC department. In this post you will be delivering teaching and assessing on our Level 1-2 Plumbing courses.

Working closely with the Programme Manager and the rest of the departmental team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with learners to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor, promote attendance, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• A full teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DET/DTLLS or Cert ED
• Experience of delivering teaching up to and including Level 2
• A Level 3 Plumbing qualification (though Level 2 may be considered)
• Relevant Plumbing industry experience

Desirable Qualifications

• Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
• Certificate/Award in Internal Quality Assurance (if old qualifications are held, e.g., A1 or V1, it is essential that you are willing to update to the new standards)
